ERASMUS+ Inclusion Support at the NDAL
In accordance with the core values defined in the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE), the implementation of student mobility follows the principles of equality, inclusion, diversity, and fair access. This means that the opportunity to participate in mobility is ensured regardless of a person's social status, health condition, cultural background, or other circumstances. Mobility activities are accessible to a wide range of participants, including those who face various types of limitations or barriers.
The fewer opportunities group may include individuals whose participation in social life may be hindered by environmental and other external factors. Barriers may be related to shortcomings in the education system, social or economic conditions, cultural differences, risks of discrimination, or geographical distance.
Participants who meet one of the following categories may receive Erasmus+ inclusion support funding for long-term or short-term study mobility:
- A person with the status of a low-income or needy individual (a relevant supporting document must be submitted);
- An orphan, a person without parental care, or a person who has lost a provider (a document confirming the status must be presented);
- A person from a large family or a family raising a child with a disability (the Latvian Honorary Family Certificate “3+ Family Card” must be presented);
- A person with health impairments requiring outpatient treatment (a doctor’s certificate confirming the need for care must be submitted).
This approach ensures that mobility opportunities are accessible to the widest possible range of students, reducing inequality and promoting full participation in the international academic environment.
