Leadership Seminar for New Lieutenants
At the Leadership Seminar of the National Defence Academy of Latvia, the new lieutenants learned management and leadership topics, actions in combat situations, getting acquainted with the stories of soldiers about their experiences in Kosovo, Iraq, and Afghanistan, and the first steps in their career of a lieutenant, upon arrival in the unit.

The National Defence Academy of Latvia held a graduation ceremony where graduated officers of the Air Forces Military Leadership, Navy Military Leadership, and the Commanding Officer study programs. State President Egils Levits, National Armed Forces Commander Lieutenant General Leonids Kalniņš, and Training and Doctrine Command Commander, Rector of the National Defence Academy of Latvia, Lieutenant Colonel Māris Utināns, took part in the ceremony.

Not all cadets of the National Defence Academy of Latvia come from families with military traditions passed down through the generations. Rūdis Ruciņš-Vējiņš, a 2nd-year cadet of the Air Forces Military Leadership program from Pļaviņas, decided where to study in the 12th grade. The young man knows that an exciting and secure career awaits him.
