Intermediate Command and Staff Course

The Intermediate Command and Staff Course is a career (education) course of junior officers of the National Armed Forces (NAF), which entitles listeners to receive a service rank in accordance with the procedures laid down in the Military Service Law.
 
The Intermediate Command and Staff Course is a full-time face-to-face course organised by the National Defence Academy of Latvia.
 
Course duration: 25 weeks.
 
Objective of the course: 

To provide its participants the necessary knowledge and skills so that the participants are able to perform the personnel leadership procedures (Troop leading procedures) at the company sub-unit level independently and to perform the duties of the junior staff officer in the composition of the battalion-level unit.

The course participants are selected and recruited by the National Armed Forces Joint Headquarters Personnel Department (J-1) in compliance with the requirements and priorities set by J-1. 

At the end of the course the assessment of each participant is prepared, where all the results of final examinations, knowledge, skills acquired during the course are combined and the description of personal character features is provided.
